Step 1.Melt together the butter, sugars, and water in a pan. Then add the cranberries and cook until they start to soften.

Step 2: Strain out the cranberries with a slotted spoon, and add them to a parchment-lined and greased cake pan.

Step 3: Continue to cook the liquid in the pan until it's reduced to a syrup, then pour it over the cranberries in the cake pan.

Step 4: In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugars for the cake batter.

Step 5: Next, use a whisk to mix in the two room-temperature large eggs to the creamed butter and sugar.

Step 6: Now we will whisk in the dry ingredients in small batches, alternating the flour with the milk. Then, whisk in the vanilla.

Step 7: Pour the cake batter overtop the cranberries and smooth it out. Bake until the cake is golden brown! Wait 10 minutes before turning the cake over onto a plate.
